Reynard Mills sent back to drawing board

Thu 28 March 2013, 3:18 pm

Proposals to build up to 275 homes on the Reynard Mills Business Park in Brentford have been thrown out by communities secretary Eric Pickles.

The decision backs up the finding of a November 2012 local public inquiry, which found residential use for the site was acceptable but dismissed LP (Brentford) Ltd’s proposals as overdevelopment, Planning magazine reported.

Pickles’ decision letter said that the “density, form, and scale” of the development would be “harmful to the character and appearance of the area”, and added that the scheme was also likely to create safety problems through increased traffic and parking on neighbouring streets.
