Report underscores borough's business prowess

Hounslow is a hair's breadth from the top of a national league table for economic performance, according to a new profile of the borough's business attributes.

A place profile by analyst Local Futures Group puts the borough fourth-highest in the country for its economic performance, based on productivity, industrial structure, business and enterprise, economic scale, and its growth in business stock..
The finding is part of a wider inward-investment report comparing the growth-related indexing scores of Hounslow and the 324 other local authority areas in England.
Most scores in Global change, Local Strategies - An Inward Investment Guide to Hounslow place the borough in the nation's top quintile.
On a wider business-location index – which factors in infrastructure, skills, and quality of life – Local Futures placed Hounslow 23rd on the list.
Councillor Ruth Cadbury, Hounslow Council's cabinet member for planning and regeneration, said the findings demonstrated the borough's dynamism and suitability for investment.
“Hounslow offers a unique opportunity for investors to help the council go for growth and reap substantial rewards," she said. We are a vibrant and diverse borough brimming with an energetic, talented population.
"We are ideally placed for ambitious businesses with Heathrow on our doorstep and the heart of London just a beat away.”
