Homes plan for Hounslow office block

by Jim Dunton Tue 20 August 2013, 2:32 pm

Proposals to turn most of an 11-floor office building in Hounslow into flats have been submitted to council planners.

Lower Richmond Properties is seeking prior approval for plans to convert almost all of the office space at the Vista Centre, in Salisbury Road, into 139 flats.

Under rule changes introduced by the government earlier this year, the move may not require full planning permission, however Hounslow Council must be notified of the plans and given an opportunity to object on specific grounds, such as transport impact, land contamination, or flooding issues.

Drawings submitted by agents Ideal Planning & Design show all but parts of the first, fourth, fifth and eighth floors of the Vista Centre taken up with a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroomed flats.

In a covering letter, Chris Gwilliam of Ideal Planning said the proposals had been discussed with both planning officers and temporary housing staff before the request was submitted.
