Regen director called to London advisory panel

by James Renoux-Wood Thu 5 September 2013, 2:10 pm

Hounslow council's director of regeneration, economic development and environment, Brendon Walsh, has been invited to sit on the London Office Review Panel, for discussions on the capital's office market policy.

London mayor Boris Johnson has convened the panel to assist with "sustaining and improving the capital’s ability to generate economic growth".

It is to be led by Stuart Robinson, chief of planning at property adviser CBRE.

Johnson said: "The panel will comprise experts bringing together a range of professional, technical and market perspectives on London office development.

"At this critical time for the London office market, I see the panel playing a vital role in providing me with advice and recommendations on current issues, trends, policy and other property and office occupier related matters which bear on my objectives for office provision and associated development."

A key subject for discussions will be the Community Infrastructure Levy and its effect on office development, according to Johnson.

The panel will assemble for the first time on 18 September 2013 at CBRE’s London headquarters and will meet twice more in October.

  • The outer London office market was debated recently at an event organised by 3Fox International and Bromley Council.
