Hounslow Council has appointed its new head of regeneration and planning policy.
Ian Rae was selected for the postion on the back of his experience working as the team leader for planning policy at Redbridge Council.
He spoke to Great West magazine about his vision for Hounslow in his new role.
"I’m excited by the huge potential Hounslow has, owing to its role as London’s key gateway," he said.
"In my position as head of regeneration and spatial planning, I am focused on bringing forward the borough’s overall strategy for growth in the Local Plan, as well as implementing a Community Infrastructure Levy.
"Such overarching policies will give developers and investors certainty and transparency, enabling Hounslow’s many development opportunities to be delivered in a sustainable manner with supporting infrastructure and excellent connectivity to vibrant town centres.
"My role will also involve joining up this work with the council’s economic development strategy and driving forward many of its initiatives to support businesses and promote inward investment.
"This will also be reflected in the delivery of key town centre projects, including those in Brentford and Hounslow being funded by the mayor’s Outer London Fund."
