Developer Berkeley Homes' plans to redevelop Chiswick's Hogarth Business Park with a mixed-use scheme boasting 174 homes have been approved.
Hounslow Council’s planning committee has approved the scheme, which would see the demolition of three warehouses at the Burlington Lane site and their replacement with a mix of three to five bedroom houses and one to three bedroomed flats, as well as almost 1,000sq metres of commercial floorspace.
The scheme would also see the creation of a new residential street and around 3,000sq metres of communal open space.
Recomending the scheme for approval, planning officers said the proposals were an acceptable infill development that would provide a suitable level of accommodation for future residents.
"The development would, subject to safeguarding conditions and the satisfactory negotiation of a Section 106 deed, preserve and enhance the character and appearance of the area and would not harm neighbours’ living conditions or pedestrian and highway safety," they added.
The committee approved the scheme subject to a range of conditions - including the agreement of safety measures to ensure the protection of trees at the site during construction.
Because of the size of development, the scheme will require endorsement from London mayor Boris Johnson before it can proceed.
