Broadcaster BskyB has submitted a revised planning proposal to Hounslow Council for a 1.67 million sq m expansion to its media campus at Osterley Park.
A detailed application has been put forward for a mixed-use building of 433,000sq m and an outline application for a media broadcasting and production campus of 1.12 million sq m, property website CoStar reported.
Planning officers are recommending the plan for approval ahead of a Hounslow planning committee meeting tomorrow (3 October).
In an official statement, planning officers wrote: "The proposed redevelopment…is considered acceptable and compatible with policy, in light of redevelopment offering the benefits of regenerating the site both in terms of unlocking the site’s potential, developing the economic position of the site, improving the appearance and character of the site and enhancing the site’s sustainability.”
The Greater London Authority says that the new proposal is in line with the London Plan, but requires more information on issues to do with climate change, transport, design code clarification and air policy
The proposals are a revised version of plans for a 1.89m sq ft masterplan that were given consent in 2012. If granted, the campus will become home to Sky Studios and the Meeting Centre building.
