Developer Londonewcastle has begun pre-application consultation work on its plans to redevelop a Chiswick office block.
It is planning to replace 500 Chiswick High Road and buildings at 30-32 Chiswick Road with new office space and 61 new homes.
London Newcastle said the current red office building - which is predominantly low rise except for its tall eastern tower, would be demolished and replaced with a development that was “more sympathetic” to the nearby conservation area.
It is proposing to build five townhouses and a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, along with an unspecified amount of office space.
London Newcastle added: "Following early consultation with the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment as well as the local planning authority, the main building proposed is stepped in height, with the tallest similar in height to 510 Chiswick High Road next door."
