The secretary of state for communities and local government, Eric Pickles, praised Hounslow's regeneration projects last week, after a tour of development sites in the borough.
Pickles was shown six active regeneration schemes, including the canal side development at Brentford Lock West in Hounslow, the Hounslow Chronicle reported.
Speaking at a Hounslow Chamber of Commerce regeneration lunch in Chiswick afterwards, Pickles praised the inclusive nature of projects in the borough.
He said: "I’ve seen examples of regeneration today that I’m going to brag about to other communities.
"To build a successful community you want something that people are truly going to call their own and from what I can see this is exactly what’s happening in Hounslow."
