by James Renoux-Wood Thu 17 April 2014, 4:18 pm

Hotel developer and operator Union Hanover Securities has acquired 100 serviced apartments from Barratt London at its Great West Quarter scheme in Brentford, Hounslow.

It will be Union Hanover’s first extended-stay Urban Villa hotel and is due to open in November.

The 100 serviced apartments were purchased on a 999-year lease, and are in a 25-storey tower on the 5-ha mixed-use development on Great West Road, which also includes 800 homes, retail outlets, restaurants, offices and a Novotel Hotel.

The Great West Quarter is located at the West End of Heathrow corridor, and is also known as the Golden Mile. It is home to a number of major corporate headquarters such as GlaxoSmithKline, Sky, JC Decaux, Worley Parsons, EMC and Sega.

Managing director of Union Hanover and Urban Villa co-founder Eric Jafari, said: “The Tower at Great West Quarter was an obvious acquisition for us.

“It fits well with our growth strategy for the Urban Villa brand in London. GWQ will be the first of six UK Urban Villa All-Suite Hotels that we will deliver in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, London and Portsmouth over the next two years.”
