A summer event in Chiswick Park for teenagers, giving them an “insight into the working world”, saw many offered placements at companies such as Aker Solutions, Qualcomm and Genworth.
The Insight Day was organised by the Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work team, which also runs the Future Focus speed-networking event that allows teenagers to ask business representatives at the business park about their jobs and companies.
Gemma McNeilis, sustainability and communications manager at Enjoy-Work, said: “One of our ambitions with Chiswick Park is to be part of the community, and this project has given us a great opportunity to help the local teenagers in the area.
“Work experience is not a compulsory part of the curriculum but we feel that it is a key skill for pupils to have when they leave school.
“It has been a great success over the last four years. Now with the addition of our ‘Insight Day’ is proving to be a valuable project for all involved. We look forward to continuing with the project and expanding it further.”
Chiswick Park Enjoy-Work worked with Chiswick School and Hounslow’s education business charity company, Spark, to develop the project.
