Its current base on Lampton Road is to be redeveloped – 750 homes will be built, consisting of mainly one and two-bedroom flats.

The council’s move to the Bath Road car park site will be financed by the sale of its current site. A seven-storey office block will include a library and a community resource centre. It is scheduled to open in summer 2018.

A developer will now be selected by the council for the project.
