Brentford site bought by Essential Living

Thu 1 October 2015, 3:36 pm

Essential Living has purchased a site in Brentford, Hounslow, for around 16 million, where it is planning to develop a residential-led scheme.

The 0.6-ha site is currently leased to supermarket chain Morrisons, but Essential Living intends to redevelop it for what it said would be Hounslow's first homes designed for long-term rent.

Details of the scheme have not yet been finalised, but consultation will begin later in the year, with a planning application scheduled for next summer.

The company will work up plans with Hounslow Council and other stakeholders to create a new mixed-use scheme that will be built and managed solely for rent.

Charlie Hustler, land director at Essential Living, said: “We have remained focused on expanding our portfolio of sites across London and the south-east and are delighted to be able to offer Hounslow its first development designed and built entirely for rent.”
