Hounslow to take flight to MIPIM

Hounslow Council's delegation at MIPIM 2016 – the annual property conference in Cannes, France – is to offer delegates the opportunity to use a flight simulator at its London Pavilion stand.
With the Airports Commission announcing its support in the summer for building a third runway at Heathrow, plans for the airport are likely to form a large part of discussions about Hounslow at the conference.
3Fox International, publisher of Great West, and partner of the council, is organising the Hounslow delegation in 2016 for a fourth year running. It developed the council's idea for the flight simulator as a way of encouraging delegates to visit the Hounslow stand at the event, to find out about opportunities for regeneration and development in the London borough.
Delegates will be invited to wear a headset and operate a joystick to control a virtual reality plane, which will give them the impression of taking off and landing at Heathrow Airport.
The flight simulator will be demonstrated using Oculus Rift hardware, which is two OLED screens built into a head mounted display, combined with real-time motion tracking data.
MIPIM 2016 takes place between 15 and 18 March 2016.
