Hounslow Council has revealed proposals to build an arts centre and housing in Brentford and is looking for a development partner.

The local authority is working with real estate investment organisation, Topland Group and property company London Green to establish the scheme.

News of the proposal was revealed at MIPIM yesterday at a speaker’s slot for Hounslow on the New London Architecture main stage.

Discussions mainly focused on the proposed third runway at Heathrow airport.

Speakers included Hounslow council leader, Councillor Steve Curran; partnerships development manager at developer Segro, Neil Impiazzi; president of the London Chamber of Commerce, Tony Pidgley; director of external affairs at Heathrow airport, Nigel Milton and Hounslow Council's executive director of regeneration, economic development and environment, Brendon Walsh.

Toby Fox, managing director at 3Fox International, which publishes Great West magazine, chaired the event.
