Plans for a mixed-use scheme delivering 137 new homes in Chiswick have been approved by Hounslow Council.

The planning committee gave the go-ahead on 12 May to a planning application submitted by Lendlease to redevelop the site at 408-430 Chiswick High Road.

An office block called Empire House will be redeveloped into a residential building, with a two-storey addition. Set over 12 storeys, it will feature 66 apartments.

Four new three-storey town houses and an eight-storey block of flats will be built on the part of the site known as Essex Place, and a new six-storey structure will be developed on the corner of Essex Place and Acton Lane, providing an additional 71 properties.

The site will also include 816sq m retail space, and 530sq m of landscaped roof terraces will provide communal amenity space.

There will be 10 parking spaces for cars and 239 for bicycles.

Lendlease revised its planning application to respond to objections received during the consultation stage, reviewing the layout to allow for more storage and amenity space.
