Green light for town centre flats

by Marco Cillario Fri 5 August 2016, 12:46 pm

Hounslow High Street will see 22 flats built in a seven-storey building.

On 7 July, the council’s planning committee gave the green light to an application by Middlestreet Properties for a building containing one and two-bedroom properties, a 191sq m retail unit at ground floor and a communal terrace on the sixth.

Approval is subject to a section 106 agreement; head of terms include the provision of affordable housing.

The development, on a site between the High Street and Prince Regent Road, will involve the demolition of a storage building currently on site.

The scheme will be accessed from Crown Yard – a pedestrian passage between the two roads – and six flats will be allocated as affordable.

The building will be provided with 44 cycle parking spaces, and all but four flats will have access to balconies.
