Hounslow leader makes Brexit statement

Thu 21 March 2019, 1:33 pm

Hounslow council leader Steve Curran has vowed that the council is committed to supporting businesses and residents in the borough during Brexit.

Curran said the run-up to March 29 and beyond could be “a period of great uncertainty and anxiety for many people” and help was being provided through the council’s dedicated online Brexit guide.

He said: “One of our strengths is the diversity of our communities, and we will continue to welcome people from across the world, including the EU, who bring valuable contributions to both the communities and businesses in our boroughs.

“We have robust arrangements to identify risks and take mitigating action across a range of potential contingencies, with additional support through pan-London arrangements, so that we can offer assistance or provide information on where to get help.”

Curran added the council website would regularly be updated with Brexit-related advice for businesses and residents.
