Heathrow expansion consultation launched
Wed 31 July 2019, 4:03 pm
Heathrow Airport has launched a public consultation on its proposed expansion, as the transport hub unveiled its masterplan for its potential future layout.
Heathrow revealed its “preferred masterplan” in June for the third runway, and started a statutory 12-week public consultation about the proposals.
The public will get to share their views on the third runway, the environmental impact of expansion - including a proposed Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and a suggested 6.5 hour ban on night flights. If expansion continues on schedule, the third runway could open in 2026.
Four special events for the public have been organised by Heathrow through July and August, before the consultation is due to end on September 13.
Copies of the consultation documents will be available, along with videos, animations, sound demonstrations, and a model of the proposed expanded airport at the public events which include:
· Brentford: Wednesday, 7 August, 2pm to 8pm - Holiday Inn Brentford Lock, Commerce Road, Brentford TW8 8GA
· Chiswick: Friday, 23 August, 2pm to 8pm - Chiswick Town Hall, Heathfield Terrace, Turnham Green, London W4 4JN
